Carolyn is an educator and therapist whose work centers on helping clients build upon their inherent strengths and pursue new paths to reach their desired goals. Initially certified in both Elementary Education and Special Education, Carolyn taught in private and public educational settings in Connecticut and New York, Pre-k through high school. For fourteen years, she used innovative teaching strategies to motivate and foster learning. The majority of her teaching experience was with students who had cognitive and emotional disabilities. Carolyn’s passion for tailoring education and behavior programs to help individuals overcome obstacles led to her second career as a Family Therapist.
Carolyn works with children, adolescents, adults and groups. In a caring and supportive environment, her clients are able to work through challenging issues. By blending elements from different approaches such as structural family therapy, solution-focused and mindfulness-based therapies, she assists clients in resolving current struggles, improving relationships and restoring life balance.
In addition to working as a clinician and life-skills group facilitator at the ASD Center for Therapeutic Services, Carolyn is co-founder of The Center for Mindful Parenting. She is also a member of the clinical team at Westbrook Youth and Family Services.
